April Fool's Day Jokes

I just had to write about the April Fool's Day joke Kynlee and Karley played on Matthew. When they got home from school they told me about an idea they had seen on Disney Channel. They wanted to "short sheet" Matthew. I was all for it! He picks on them all the time that I thought this would be a great, safe way for them to get him back. Mean, huh? Well, sometimes us girls have to stick together!:) I re-made his bed with his top sheet folded in half, so when he got in, his feet would reach the bottom of the sheet about half way down his bed. We couldn't wait until bedtime came around. After saying our family prayer, Karley hung around in their room, smiling and waiting. Trying to keep a straight face, I told Matthew to get in his bed so I could tuck him in. As he did he was like, "What the heck!" and us girls busted up laughing. We had gotten him! He was such a good sport and joined in laughing. It was priceless! I have to add that Matt attempted to play an April Fool's Day joke on the kids. Unfortunately, he set it up too late in the day and it was actually Kenzie and I that found it the next morning. I was getting her a bowl of cereal, and as I looked into the box, I noticed the cereal was not the cereal it showed on the box. I was totally mad and thinking I was going to have to take it back to the store and get it replaced. Well, come to find out, Matt had switched a few of the cereals as a joke. I thought it was brilliant! We'll have to remember it for next year!

Dressed In White

It has been so fun getting ready for Karley's Baptism! She picked out her beautiful dress while we were visiting AZ in November. She has waited patiently to finally be able to wear it. A few weeks ago, I had Baptism pictures taken of her. We went up to American Fork Canyon so we could have the beautiful white snow as the backdrop setting. It was windy and freezing! Karley's best friend, Abbie, who was to be baptized with Karley, came with us. These girls were so cold, but the pictures turned out DARLING! We were so excited to have Grandmama and Aunt Karissa's family from AZ here for the Baptism. So special! The Baptism program was beautiful. Karley asked Grandmama to give the talk on Baptism. She worked so hard and it turned out wonderful! Kynlee and Abbie played their violins to "I Am A Child Of God" while all the little kids that were there sang. I was so proud of Kynlee...she did great! I am proud of Karley for her choice in being baptized. About being baptized, she said, "It felt so good!" Matt gave Karley a tender blessing. Karley is already an amazing little girl and I know that she can only be better now that she has the companionship of the Holy Ghost. I am thankful for the sweet spirit that was felt today. I love you Karley!

Grandmama and Karley - My Mom left later that day. Karley was so sad...she wished her Grandmama could have stayed longer. She came with me to drop Grandmama off at the airport. Karley crossed her fingers the whole way home in hopes that Grandmama would miss her flight and have to stay longer!:) She thinks you are so nice Mom and loves you so much!

My Baby Is Four

I can't believe my baby turned four today! Kenzie had some special visitors here for her Birthday. Uncle Jesse and Aunt Karissa drove their family up here from AZ and Grandmama flew in. What a treat! She was so excited to have them share this day with her! What a blessing you are in our family. I love being your Mom. I am amazed at how much you have grown up in the last year. You say and do so many funny things. I love the crazy expressions you make! Thanks for being my little buddy at home...what am I going to do when you are at school all day?:) Remember that you have been blessed with lots of family and friends who love and support you. Always know that I am here for you. I love you and Happy Birthday my little 4 year old!
Kenzie enjoyed her breakfast in bed...which included: biscuits and sausage gravy, homemade strawberry jam, and juice. Yum! She loves this Birthday tradition.
Matt, Jesse, and Grandmama took the kids to Jump On It while I took Karissa to Urgent Care. We found out she had strep throat...yay medicine! Everyone had so much fun jumping for an hour! I love this picture of Matt with his sweet Birthday Girl!
Kynlee, Karley, Tate, Kenzie, and Presley being silly and having fun on the tramps!
We made homemade pizzas for dinner. The kids had fun decorating their pizzas in their own style! Yummy!
Kenzie was excited to finally have the candles all to herself...blow Kenzie!
All of the cousins enjoying the yummy cake!
Kenzie loved the gifts from Mom and Dad! We love you!
Grandpa and Grandma Nikolaus sent Kenzie a package. She loved the Thumbelina toys, sparkly "K" purse, and new outfit! Thanks so much!
Kenzie is really into Ponies. She got a cute Pony in a bag and a Pony coloring book from Grandpa and Grandma Slider! So cute!

Hey Sister, Soul Sister

Aunt Kristy came up to visit us during her spring break. We had a blast with her here! It was so good for me to have a piece of my family here. We enjoyed visiting and the laughing was nonstop!
After picking Kristy up from the airport, we went and did a session in the Salt Lake Temple. This picture was the best we got...it was so windy!
Kristy bundled up on our ride to the pool. The hot tub was so nice!
One night we had a Rockband jam session. You are a rockstar!
All the girls went to the Dinosaur Museum. It was fun!
That is one big dinosaur!
One foot, two foot, cute foot, huge foot!
Only the "ancient" men kept hitting on Kristy!:)
Karley loves playing with the dinosaurs in the sand and water.
Kynlee and Kenzie about to be eaten by Jaws!
Kynlee's face cracks me up in this picture!
My little paleontologists. They had so much fun digging for dinosaur bones in the sand!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Aunt Kristy made the kids GREEN pancakes and GREEN scrambled eggs for breakfast! They loved it!
We bought matching shirts and decided to take some "engagement pictures" on the dock. It was so funny! We are such a cute couple!:)
The giggles never ended!
Nice pose!
Here we are pretending to jump in the lake!
Aunt Kristy taught the kids how to play Poison. It was fun!
What a goofy group! Nice funny faces!
Thanks so much for coming up here! You are so cute! We had tons of fun and can't wait to see you again! Love you sister!
