Well, Matthew has a whole new look! He has joined the many other kids his age who have braces! Matthew's teeth are pretty straight to begin with, so he got braces for other reasons - overbite, protruding front teeth, alignment of upper vs. lower jaw, and repositioning of molar teeth to help with bite and wear and tear. It's amazing what braces can do! Matthew was a little nervous, but he had time to calm his nerves during the 2 hour process. His teeth were tender the first 5 days. He said they felt like jello, not strong at all. He made it through with a good attitude. Other than the initial shock of braces on his teeth, it didn't take long for all of us to be use to seeing him with them on. He's still a stud...smile away!
