Official Teenager

Holy moly, I have a TEENAGER! I still can't believe Matthew turned 13 years old today. Where has the time gone? It really doesn't seem that long ago when I was bringing my blond peach fuzz, blue eyed, absolutely precious newborn home. Wow has he grown-up...literally! When I stand behind him, all I can see on me are my eyes and up. As big of a birthday #13 is, we had a pretty regular, but special, day. I made him breakfast: waffles, fried eggs, bacon, and juice. Kenzie and I picked him up from school later and made a quick run to Wendy's for lunch. He had his favorite, Chapalutas, for dinner and by request a Triple Chocolate Fudge cake with chocolate shavings on top.

The girls made Matthew some cute cards and he loved the cell phone, walkie talkie, camera, and laptop Karley made for him out of paper...she's so creative. Matt and I felt bad that it was the next morning before he got our gift, but that was just how it went. He loves his new Mountain Bike! It was just what he wanted.

Matthew, I can't believe you are a TEENAGER! You mean the world to me and I am so proud of the amazing young man you are becoming. You are smart, loving, spiritual, a good friend, and a great big brother. Oh ya, you are stinkin' handsome too! Make good choice in these TEEN years and you will be HAPPY. Always remember how much I love you. I am always here for you. Happy Birthday Son!

You Put A Smile On My Face With The Funny Things You Say

Kenzie got dressed for Kindergarten and she put on a turtle neck. When I asked how she wanted me to do her hair, she insisted I did it like a turtle's!:)

When Kynlee was just 5 years old, she had a friend named Sam. He was over playing one day, and when I asked her what kind of sandwich she wanted she said, "I want Sam...I mean ham!"

Matthew really has his heart set on playing in the NBA. He knows that they play games on Sundays, so his solution to making it to church and taking the sacrament is, "I will just ask my Ward if they can always meet at the early block, and I'll repent on the airplane if it is an away game!"

Mom: "Deep down I don't think it is a good idea."

Karley: "In your feet?"

Kenzie is a polite little girl. I overheard her talking in her sleep one night saying, "No thanks." She even uses her manners while dreaming.

Karley found one of her toys that had been broken and said, "Whoever did this is going to pay the bill!"

Driving over the Glen Canyon Dam on our way down to AZ, Kynlee said, "The beavers must have worked hard on this one!"

When Matthew was 2 yrs. old, we went to the airport to pick Matt up from a work trip. Matthew was looking out the window, watching the airplanes take-off and said, "Look Mom! That airplane is doing a pop-a-wheelie!"

Kenzie likes to pinch our cheeks and say, "You chubby cheeks." One day I had her in the shower with me and she pinched my behind and said, "You chubby butt!"
